Thank goodness for the little things:

The Flu…..Did you get your flu vaccine? We opted for the real deal. It hit our house over 10 days ago. We are on the last aches, pains, sniffles, and coughs of the 6

days of fever, plus 2 more days recuperating. It did pass over a couple of us. (Knock on wood). I thought…I can handle it- sick kids laying on the couch, no sleep,

answering their beck and call. It did go okay. Until……

Erman woke up Saturday morning with a pain in his back that would not go away. He was restless. I had never seen

Him pace the floor in pain. He tried to lay down. He tried to walk it off. The pain came around to his abdomen.

Then he said it felt like he was punched in his groin. I had been giving him lemongrass and helicrysum oil for

His congestion. He said that it was the pill I gave him that made the pain start!

The oils help with congestion and cough, but they are also a kidney cleansing oil. I looked up kidney stones and

Sure enough, lemongrass and helicrysum are used to treat kidney stones.

So, while I did cause his pain, he can thank his lucky stars that it was just a 2 mm kidney stone and not a 7 mm!

The internet describes kidney stones worse than having labor. He said now he knows how I felt when he had to rub my back during labor!! It is

So nice to be understood.

I missed my mom this week. I wanted her here so bad. I dropped Erman off at the ER for the pain and came home to

Sick kids. Jaida was a lifesaver. She was amazing. So what got me through this week of sick kids and a husband

with a kidney Stone:

Trader Joes New Maple Leaf Cookies, 3 empty boxes later and maybe a few pounds (who would know, I

Refuse to own a scale, but I measured my inches and it said, I am still "practically perfect in every way").(Mary Poppins)

I couldn't help but start to chuckle while reading about Erman's pacing the floor and pain. Nathan had the exact same thing happend to him about 3 years ago. Although no sick children we were on vacation. Glad to hear everyone is on the mend (knock on wood). I love reading you blog. Keep up the good work. Love Jill

Jessica I am so sorry to hear about your horrible 10 days of flu. I wish you lived closer and then you would have all of us sisters to help you out. I hope everything is getting back to normal!

It would take much more than three boxes of cookies to knock you off the "practically perfect in every way" scale. We can't wait to hang out!
