Imagine you met a stranger on the street. You helped him home. You became friends. You invited him over to your house for dinners, birthdays, holidays. You knew he did not have any family. You felt sorry for him. You cared about him. Your kids know him now. They help you serve him.
Then he suddenly forgets everything you ever did for him. "I no longer love you and no longer consider you and your family friends. Do not call me. Do not come to my house."

What if that someone is you in heaven. God helps us home. He invites us in. He is our friend. Is this how he feels when one of us shut Christ out?
His love is unconditional. He understands that we are not perfect. I know he is our friend. He shows us kindness. I am thankful for the gift of unconditional love.
