I have been house bound and a little less than perfect in the mobility of my body. However, I am glad that I have felt whole this week and I am happy to have a body!!
First, Landon's baseball game. Favorite quotes from parent:
(Indian accent) "Sone, stop playing in the dirt and focus on the game."
(mother yelling behind me) "Jimmy, helmet!" "Jimmy, helmet" I am still trying to figure out what she wanted him to do when he was up to bat with his helmet?
(a dad on the side lines) "Sam, leave the dandelions alone and pay attention to the game."
The Philly Book Festival. We heard the author Harlan Coban "Change". He was funny and seemed most normal. No offense to writers, but some can be weird. His books actually all seem good, Mystery.
Judy Schachner | Skippyjon Jones, Lost in Spice reading in the park was great. She is really good and she told us how the origianl Skippyjon Jones is buried in the back ground. Her daughter is a paleontologist and is going to dig up Skippy's bones and she will have a shrine of him in her house!! A little freaky, but I might do the same if Jaida was a paleontologist. Another good one was, Jimmy Gownley | Amelia Rules: The Tweenage Guide to Not Being Unpopular. He was enjoyable and the kids liked his drawings. I will have to check out his books because he is normal! Now, there was a long line for Chelsea, Chelsea Bang Bang, but the sound of that does not ring kid friendly, we skipped that pretty thing's debutante. Lastly, Yann Martel | Beatrice and Virgil. This has a twisty like-allegory with the Holocaust. He has a taxidermied donkey and monkey played in there. I see his point of taking off from the typical historical novel and for the non-historical loving person, but If anyone reads this book, I would like to know what you think, but I don't think I will have time to read it.
